I was just about to go out to the garden again but it is once again pouring with rain.

雨が止んだら、花植えをするつもりなのです。しっかり降った雨で植えた植物がよく育つでしょう。　

植える予定なのは、アフリカン・マリーゴールド(大きくなるタイプ）と、普通のフレンチ・マリーゴールド、そしてピンクと赤のゼラニウム、ペチュニアのミックス、小さなベゴニア(小さいけど秋まで咲き続けるのです。

リーク（ネギ）の種まきは済んでいて、定植の準備OKだし、春にジャガイモを植えたのなら芽が出ている頃ですね。

そして、ランナービーン(フレンチビーン）を植えるつもり。
あなたも同じかしら？その場合は長い支柱を立ててツルが昇るのを助けてあげてくださいね。

As soon as it eases off I shall put some new bedding plants in. With this good heavy rain they will be well watered and get a good start. I shall plant large African marigold, small French marigold, both pink and red geraniums, mixed petunias, small "come-again" begonias which are quite small but will go on flowering till autumn.

I have already planted leek seeds which are now ready for planting out. If you planted potatoes in the spring they should now be showing green well above the soil.

I shall also be planting runner beans (French beans) if you have them, make sure you have long sticks or canes stuck in the ground for the beans to climb up.
