ここは、NGS(ナショナル・ガーデンズ・スキーム)の庭として年に2,3回公開されている。
Spring has defintely arrived, but our weather is still very unpredictable. Sunshine can turn to showers or heavy rain very quickly. The ground is also very wet from heavy rains and we need to go out with umbrella and gum boots everytime. I witnessed the sudden change when I visited Beverston Castle recently. It opens two or three times a year as an NGS garden.
Rain is coming!
Beverstone Castle was originally an early 13th century fortified stone manor house. Only the west range and one D-shaped tower of the gatehouse now remain, with a late 18th century house standing on the site of the 13th century hall. It looks like half castle half house.
The rain caught everyone by surprise, but all were prepared.
Large trees make a good temporary shelter.
The gardens are big and at this time of the year the daffodils were excellent. Beautiful light after the rain has gone.
